Objet is looking for a Service Engineer in the Bay Area
The Objet Geometries Inc. sales and service office is based in Boston Massachusetts. Objet is a technology and market leader in jetting polymer materials to produce high-quality 3-Dimensional models and parts. Accordingly, Objet is setting a new standard in 3-D Printing.
The Field Support Engineer will work directly with the end users of Objet 3D printers on all onsite installs and service related issue. This position is based in the Bay Area and reports to our Boston based Field Service Manager within the customer service organization.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Performs remedial maintenance, preventative maintenance and the necessary ongoing customer support on Objet’s equipment.
- System installation of Objet equipment for new customers and extensions for existing customers.
- Operator training and ongoing support for customers.
- Responsible for all related administration pertaining to customer calls, including the timely completion of service reports, expense reports and weekly time reports, as well as the tracking of preventive maintenance and upgrade requirements for assigned customers.
- Develops strong relationships with customers and sales partners.
- Act as customer liaison and help drive customer issues to resolution.
- Participate in Site Ownership approach by:
- Driving customer retention and loyalty for the Objet brand in order to increase our long-term profitability.
- Gathering customer information including product and business information.
- Proactively identifying areas of customer dissatisfaction with Objet products and services and solve customer problems promptly.
- Identify sales leads and feed information back to Objet Sales.
- Collecting and documenting competitive information.
- Educate customers on the latest corporate initiatives and Objet products.
- Education Required:
- Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, technical trade school studies, or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a field service environment.
- Solid understanding of all aspects of complex electro-mechanics high-tech equipment.
- Possess a very good understanding in computers
- Experience in the Rapid Prototyping industry would be an asset.
- Superior communication and listening skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact, and discretion.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair and solve system/equipment issues.
- Proven customer oriented skills in a service environment.
- Planning, organizational and administrative abilities.
- Willingness to travel locally daily with up to 80% travel with overnight stays.
