FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
A Pharmaceutical Equipment Distributor seeks a Field Service Engineer for its Service Department in its South Easton, Massachusetts facility. The ideal candidate must be a highly organized self-starter who enjoys traveling and working in an independent environment. Factory training provided, experience with PLC based controls (Allen-Bradley, Siemens and WonderWare) and PC hardware and software systems are a definite plus. Scope of work:
- Wide variety of duties includes installation, calibration, qualification and maintenance of KORSCH’s cutting edge equipment. Set up, adjust and operate standard and custom-built electro-mechanical equipment. Record data and troubleshoot circuits from schematics.
- Provide technical support to field service engineers, maintenance personnel and customers who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems and/or PLC software. Isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning mechanical equipment or software.
- Respond to situations as first-line service. Train customers and provide technical support. Some after-hours support is required for both technical issues and/or customer satisfaction. Available to work on site to install, commission, and test.
- Travel requirement in the range of 75%, possibly short notice. Duration of each trip ranges one day to two weeks.
Successful candidates should possess:
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or appropriate trade school training with 5 years of related experience.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude. Excellent hands-on mechanical skills.
- Minimum three years experience troubleshooting electronic circuits and sub-systems using schematics. Working knowledge of electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge and experience with PLC's, (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), a plus.
- Knowledge of PC computers and MS Office or equivalent software.
- Experience with strain gauges and/or strain measurement rotating systems, torque measurement, is a plus.
- Positive attitude, highly self motivated, self starter, and strong work ethic, desire to learn and be part of a strong team environment. Ability to present a professional demeanor to our customers at all times.
