Packsize, the global leader in on-demand packaging systems, is seeking a field service engineer to maintain and service machines due to aggressive sales growth in various areas of the United States.  The geographic area of highest priority is the central region of the United States.  The company is dedicated to transforming the packaging industry with the placement of its proprietary “Right Sized Packaging On Demand®” systems.  Our systems produce any size or style of corrugated package from a continuous feed of fanfold corrugated.  Our business model entails the placement of our systems in customer facilities at our expense in exchange for the customer’s agreement to purchase fanfold from us.  Our systems produce documented savings in the costs of customers’ packaging material, labor, shipping, inventory management and the associated carrying costs.  We are committed to lean manufacturing, on demand inventory management, continuous quality improvement, efficient supply chain management, environmental responsibility and sustainable forestry.

 

Must have excellent work ethic and time management skills, accessible via telephone, and promptly returns email and phone messages.

 

Experience in lean manufacturing and batch production required.

 

Candidate should have a customer focused attitude and calm demeanor when under pressure.

 

Candidate utilizes math skills (specifically geometry) to create packaging designs and efficient machine operation through simplifying the design matrix.

 

50% travel amongst a region of states is possible and can be more or less. Potential candidate likes to travel proactively and visit facilities in an effort to make sure machinery is in great working order and that customers have designs and software updates as needed.

Candidate will work closely with customers and should be able to enhance the customer's positive experience with Packsize.

 

Windows and PLC experience is a must. Ability to troubleshoot PC errors and PLC functions remotely and on location.

 

Experience needed with servo drives, pneumatic systems, 480 3 phase power (knowledge of), and setup of machinery and corresponding accessories.

 

Proven ability to motivate customer's production employees through training on how to operate machinery and implement lean principals is required.

 

Candidate must be experienced with Windows based computing. Candidate must be able to update online database system in a timely manner to facilitate the flow of machine data and dashboard reporting.

 

Perform PMs on machinery as required and report back issues, parts needed, and replace said parts.

 

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record as company car is provided. 

 

Relocation expenses will not be covered by Packsize for this position.
