Field Superintendent Job in Calgary, Alberta Canada
Description:
Design Group Staffing in conjunction with our Calgary based client, a dynamic leader in the window and door industry in Canada is seeking a Field Superintendent for commerical applications.
Our client provides supply and installation of Curtain Wall, Window Wall, and Commercial Store Front Entry Systems for commercial high rise, commercial industrial, store front, and multi-unit residential apartment and hotel type buildings.
In this position, you are responsible for:
Planning, organizing and supervising field work at construction sites.
Coordinating work crews to complete work to meet project schedules and ensuring continuity of job progress and maximizing productivity.
Serving as primary point of contact with the client and other subcontractors on site.
Planning the sequence and number of installation activities on site.
Supervising the daily activities of the field crew including supervising, directing, and designating work assignments.
Monitoring labor performance, manpower allocation, and effective use of tools and equipment.
Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
Documenting site conditions and any concerns or issues affecting job sites or work progress.
Keeping branch management advised of issues impacting project work in a timely manner.
Interfacing with customers and branch management as needed regarding revisions and coordinating any fabrication/installation changes.
Coordinating ordering, delivery and removal of rental equipment.
Completing site measures of rough openings and coordinating dimensions with the Fabrication shop/fabricators.
Keeping work schedules current and staying on top of progress.
Maintaining effective working relationships with Project Managers and Site personnel.
Providing effective leadership for Lead Hands and work crews
Primary Qualifications Required
High School Diploma plus a minimum of 5 to 8 years related field experience including supervision of construction teams.
Ability to read, interpret and follow architectural drawings, blueprints and shop drawings.
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication principles, techniques and practices.
