Field Systems Engineer/Integrator

This position is located in our VA, Herndon facility

A restricted program in Reston Virginia is seeking a Systems Integrator to support a program providing large-scale development, testing, deployment and OM. The qualifed candidate will join a team that is responsilbe for engineering an enterprise infrastructure designed to support a global IT network. The qualified candidate will be responsible for engineering enterprise solutions for complex infrastructure requirements. The candidate will also be required to engineer enhancements that will improve the reliability, maintainability, and performance of the system and its infrastructure. The candidate should be a subject matter expert in enterprise system implementations and have the knowledge and ability to evaluate product solutions and make recommendations. Candidate should be self-motivated, a good team player, possess good communications skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Occasional off-hours support is required.

Must have a current and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Candidates without this clearance will not be considered for the position.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.

• • At least 5 years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience in a variety technology areas (networks, operating systems, storage, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of large-scale enterprise implementations
• Solid understanding of operating system configuration and optimization (Windows, Solaris, and Linux)
• Solid understanding of network engineering and security principles (e.g. protocols, routing, switching, filtering, Firewall rules, etc.)
• Experience working with VM's VM Ware (e.g., vSphere 3.5 or 4.0)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as demonstrated by technical synopses, white papers, presentations, etc.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks, interact with internal and external customers and development teams, and clearly communicate status information.
• Candidate should be able to work independently or as a member of a team on complex tasks.

• At least 5 years of engineering experience with operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux)
• One or more professional systems engineering certifications (MCSE, RHCE, A+, etc.)
• Experience working with Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage
• Scripting languages (Perl, Bash, sh, ksh)
