Corrpro, an Aegion company, is looking for an experienced Field Technician.
Corrpro is America's largest corrosion engineering, cathodic protection, and corrosion monitoring business for the protection and preservation of infrastructure. Corrpro provides professional corrosion consulting and cathodic protection engineering services to major oil companies, government agencies, municipal water, sewer and gas utilities, universities, and public transportation agencies. Corrpro has complete construction installation services, including crews and equipment to install any type of cathodic protection system for any type of structure.
The Field Technician will plan and perform duties involved with testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures.
- Must be capable of taking electrical measurements and performing basic electric system evaluations relative to industry standards.
- Work with specific objectives and instruction from senior personnel on customer drawings and specifications.
- Organize tools and materials required for the assigned projects.
- Install materials to meet job specifications and customer requirements.
- Notify construction foreman of unanticipated field changes, suggest possible alternatives and document the changes.
- Restore jobsite to conditions found prior to beginning work.
- Conduct various specific test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes.
- Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports.
- Organize and reduce data gathered for use on final reports.
- Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations.
- Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations.
This position involves installing and servicing cathodic protection systems on water storage tanks. Cathodic Protection is a means of preventing corrosion utilizing a low voltage/amperage D.C. current. The structures the Field Technician would work on are generally welded steel tanks ranging in height from 24' to 175'. The required work for this position will involve running conduit, pulling wire, mounting junction boxes and electrodes, splicing wires and general service work.
The job requires significant travel. The office covers work in the southwest region of the US. Crew routings are generally 1-2 weeks and occasional local work, pending upon job location.
- Minimum 1 years related electrical experience
- Must have knowledge in basic electronics
- Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem solving skills are a must
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Significant travel is required
- Must be able to climb 100 feet in the air

Corrpro requires that all employees pass a pre-employment drug test. We also require a valid driver's license, and a review of DMV records to verify eligibility to operate a company owned vehicle. Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem solving skills are a must.
