The Switch/SCOUT Engineer will specifically support the E911 project by:
· Supporting call testing efforts, such as setting up called numbers and ensuring proper tasking of calls over Lb (avoid double taskings)
· Adding / removing / maintaining SS7 F-link links configurations
· Updating SCOUT configuration due to LAC/CI mismatches, rehomes, GPS coordinates, T1 re-mapping (line coding, ds0 data)
· Supporting other basic SCOUT configuration functions as needed
· Maintaining all location related Core Network equipment according to TruePosition or the equipment manufacturer’s policies and procedures
· Loading configuration files
· Troubleshooting LMU issues
· Supporting the commissioning of system components and LMU sites
· Troubleshoot T1/ds0 issues
· Supporting the TruePosition LMU software upgrade
· Support BSC migration/Rehomes
JOB OBJECTIVE:
To operate and perform thorough testing of a Wireless Location System (WLS) in preparation for deployment to customers. The Field Test Engineer will be responsible for all test activities at the customer location.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Implement tests as specified in the various test plans they have developed or developed by other Test Engineers.
· Development of detailed test procedures.
· Execute step-by-step test procedures, develop test scripts, perform initial determination of test pass/fail, identify and document encountered problems, interpret test results and generate test reports as required.
· Demonstration of the system with customer personnel
· Direct various company personnel on all associated tasks and provide status reports to all applicable customer and company personnel.
· May also perform various training courses for the customer.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
· BS or equivalent experience in engineering Math or Computer Science
Experience:
· 3+ years experience in the development and execution of system test plans at customer locations, preferably in the telecommunications market.
· System Test experience
· UNIX experience
· Network engineering experience
· Extensive experience working in a field environment with customer personnel is preferred.
Requirements:
· Motivated, and able to work extended hours as needed.
· Ability to work in a team environment, as well as individually.
· Ability to travel (both domestic and international) is required.

Qualifications:
· At least 5 years of experience in the field of cell-site or Telco equipment installation and commissioning.
· Knowledge of Nokia, Nortel, Ericcson, and Lucent BTS preferred.
