Finalist or Recently Qualified Accountant required for Financial Control opportunity at UBS. recruitment
The position is month end driven and examines accounting principle inconsistencies in the Investment Bank ledger. Errors may also occur as a result of missing static data and following front end system/process changes by project teams across the business.
You will interact frequently with all Finance functions to resolve and clear ledger validation issues, liaising with the offshore team and coordinating an approach with Accounting Control and Product Control.
It is expected that you will enhance controls and processes by resolving recurring inefficiencies, through communications with Operations, Market Risk, Credit Risk, IT, Regulatory, Finance Change and Global Finance Reporting teams. You will generate appropriate MI to support progress and status reports for senior management.
You will have a solid accounting background, and while it is preferred that you will hold an accountancy qualification, applications from individuals who are soon to qualify will also be considered. It is however imperative that you have gained your working experience in a global business, similar in scale and level of transactions to UBS, and with a comparative level of complexity regarding financial controls - this does not need to be a Financial Services organisation.
This position is a great entry role for an accountant into UBS as you will be exposed to all product groups and the full Finance function within the business.
