Finance Analyst Business Support recruitment
Corporate Reporting department is a team of over twenty qualified financial accountants. The department provides an excellent legal entity overview of all Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) businesses and products. The Corporate Reporting team comprises statutory and legal entity control.
Responsibilities
Role is for a Legal Entity Controller at Officer level within a medium sized team (~7 people) with responsibility for all elements of legal entity reporting and control for MLI. The primary functions of the role are focussed on control as follows:
Essential
• Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent qualification)
• General Ledger experience
• Excel proficiency (pivots)

Desirable
• US GAAP knowledge
• UK GAAP knowledge
• Demonstrable experience of preparing statutory accounts and liaising with auditors
• Familiarity with Investment Banking products and understanding of business flow
Oracle General Ledger experience
• Supporting the MLI Month end close including journal preparation for intercompany settlements and US GAAP to UK GAAP conversion to create the UK GAAP accounts for MLI.
• Working to produce the monthly MLI accounts under UK GAAP to support FSA return production
• Supporting the wider team through the monthly reporting cycle including reporting pack production, various PL, expense and balance sheet reviews
• Provide coverage to daily and weekly MLI commentary process
• Monthly controls and balance sheet attestation, expense commentary and review, corporate cost centre review and equity checks.
• Drive improvements in reconciliations and other controls
• Ad-hoc project work including SAP replacement ledger testing
• Working US regulatory colleagues to produce quarterly Federal Reserve filings
• Collation of supervisory review pack for the wider London Corporate Reporting team
• Assist in production of local GAAP statutory accounts and interface with external auditor
Handover this role to permanent replacements hires including review and improvements to
existing procedure documentation.
