Finance Assistant

An international firm are now looking to recruit an Accounts Receivable Assistant to work in their high pressured and growing AR team. Reporting to the AR Manager, the role will consist of:

Sales Ledger / billings co-ordinator 75%:
Liaising with and collating information from overseas teams / management accountants to raise sales invoices in AX accounting system / addressing invoicing queries. 90%
Phoning / Chasing and collecting debts 10%

Expenses and cash advances 10%:
Inputting and processing of expense claim forms and cash advances

Reporting 15%:
Weekly and monthly reporting on the debtor position (DSO, Bad debt)

Technical skills:
Proven experience of UK VAT in the AR function
Experience or exposure to overseas VAT and experience of differing treatments,
Experience or exposure to WHT process and management of WHT issues.

Within the role you will be working with overseas operational teams to ensure that accurate information is received to ensure that clients are billed in line with expectations.
Working within the tight month end deadlines to ensure all is processed within prescribed timescales
Working with different Accounts Receivable Manager, Management Accountants and operational teams and managing the workload and expectations
To prioritise and work towards ensuring invoices are paid on time
Working in a fast-paced multi-national environment

Experience

2 to 3 years accounts / accounts receivable experience
Knowledge of general accounting procedures especially VAT rules and withholding tax
Experience in working in a fast paced environment and security related background an advantage

Self starter with the ability to take the initiative
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities
Good verbal and written communication – articulate, confident and engaging
Ability to plan, prioritise and work to tight deadlines
Ability to work as a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision
