Finance Assistant Job in New York 10017, New York Us

The Aldan Troy Group is looking for an individual with experience/background in Accounting and Finance to fill the role of a Finance Assistant at a company located in Midtown.

This position is responsible for supporting the finance department, including performing all day-to-day accounting functions and preparation for financial reporting. This individual will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Budget and Finance.

Job duties will include the following:

- Perform ACCURATE daily processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
- Management of daily cash transactions
- Accurate allocation and recording of American Express charges
- Monthly bank statement reconciliation for multiple accounts in various currencies
- Accurate posting of financial transactions and adjustments
- Recording foreign exchange transactions and conversions, including UK and Canadian payrolls and Australian transactions
- Assist in reconciliation of monthly account balances within strict deadlines
- Assist in annual budget
- General Admin tasks (filing, faxing, scanning, mailing etc)
- Various Assigned Projects

Required Skills:

- HIGHLY detail oriented, with a keen eye for discrepancies
- Ability to work well under strict pressure/deadlines
- Key strength in organization

- Proficient in the following:   MS Excel, Word, Outlook 
- Proficient in the following: Internet Explorer, MAS-90, Adobe Acrobat

All QUALIFIED applicants MUST have...
- An Associates/Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 3-4 year Minimum experience with Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Foreign language skills a PLUS (but not required)

Compensation will be based on experience and can increase based on the Temp to Perm Position.
