Finance Assistant UK Purchase Ledger

I am currently looking to recruit for a fantastic job opportunity within a friendly and local SME business near Thame. They need a new Finance Assistant to cover the UK purchase ledger in a supportive and welcoming accounts team and to also help out on an ad-hoc basis during busy periods to ensure deadlines are met.

This is an ideal job role for someone with some solid experience in purchase ledger looking for a steady position to settle into and really contribute to the running of an efficient accounts team.

Job Responsibilities::
- Maintain accurate system information for GBP supplier accounts, monitor newly created accounts
- Process GBP Supplier Invoices
- Check import entries, process import Vat Duty invoices and liaise with importers to resolve queries
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Ensure credits are received from suppliers for goods returned
- Ensure suppliers are paid on time
- Daily and month end reconciliation of GBP bank account

It is preferable for applicants to have worked in a job role dealing with purchase ledger and cashbook, and to be capable of handling these independently. It would also be advantageous to have knowledge of nominal ledger and importation procedures. Systems training will be provided.
