Finance Associate recruitment

This well established heavy equipment and vehicle hire business is based in the Western NSW region. The business has a growing fleet of plant and equipment of over 120 units and approximately 100 staff. It provides crucial gear and operations to multiple mining, infrastructure and construction clients across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia. It is one of the few remaining privately owned and independent operators of scale in the industry.

The business has built up a substantial forward book of orders and is entering an exciting phase of revenue and profit growth. To this end, a CA qualified, commercial individual is required in the business to assist the senior management team to capitalise on all the opportunities at hand. The role will be broad and involve a review of all current accounting systems and processes and have carriage of ongoing management and financial accounting practices. As a capital intensive business, cashflow modelling will be required as well as managing interaction with banks. There will be exposure to MA via bolt-ons and their subsequent integration and you will also assist with all organic rollouts across the Eastern seaboard. In summary, this role amalgamates the traditional finance function with strategy, planning and MA.

You will have circa 4-10 years’ professional experience. You will be CA qualified and either be an associate from a transaction based environment such as the corporate finance team of an accounting firm or boutique advisor or you will have prior experience as a commercial finance controller. You will be based in your preferred location of Newcastle or Brisbane and you will also have the flexibility to spend the first 6-12 months getting to know business operations in regional New South Wales.
