Finance Business Partner
This Finance Business Partner - Technical Specialist role in Edinburgh will appeal to qualified accountants who possess good technical accounting skills, but who also are able to think and operate within a commercial environment. The role has been created to respond to the increasing importance of legal entity and regulatory change affecting financial services, and is specifically designed to support the Technical Specialist Manager in key areas such as: Divisional Transfer Pricing, Divisional Policy and Divisional Accounting Compliance. The role sits within a wider "Decision Support" community and enjoys frequent liaison and interaction with these individuals.
As Finance Business Partner, you will be the primary contact for Transfer pricing queries, be the owner of divisional issues, investigate queries with functional owners and attend Transfer Pricing Governance meetings on a regular basis; managing the issues and actions resulting from this. The Finance Business Partner will also be responsible for monthly Management Information (MI) monitoring of policy standards, reviewing issues raised against policies, whilst ensuring they are addressed with appropriate action plans. The Finance Business Partner will review new policy standards to ensure that any new requirements are taken account of, whilst undertaking rigourous review and challenge of local action plans to ensure governance.
As a qualified accountant, ideally with some exposure to financial services (either through professional audit or "in house" work experience, you will be able to demonstrate your technical ability, whilst also demonstrating your ability to get difficult stakeholders on-side. Knowledge and/or awareness of Tax and Treasury issues would be a distinct advantage. Initially, the role is being offered on a 12 month contract basis. However, there may be scope for this to be extended/offered permanently.
