Finance Business Partner/ Analyst recruitment

The business analysis team is high profile, with frequent exposure to the Group CAO and Group FD and are responsible for the commentary and analysis in monthly reporting to the Group Management Board, the quarterly quarterly Group external board reports, the annual operating plans, as well as the “management discussion and analysis” commentary in the external annual and interim reports and Interim Management Statements. The team liaises closely with the regional and global business finance functions to develop a in depth understanding of developments within their particular focus area, and to investigate and understand variances to enable informed commentary writing.

Role Context

• During peak reporting times (January/February and July) the teams’ main focus is on the production of the management discussion and analysis which makes up a significant proportion of the text of the Annual and Interim reports.  The Senior Business Analyst will be required to take responsibility for certain commentaries and supporting analysis, supported by a Business Analyst, ensuring that any commentary or report produced accurately reflects the business performance.  Support and coaching will be provided within the team, however, it is important that the Senior Business Analyst is quickly able to get to grips with the role and can work with minimum supervision.

• Outside of the peak reporting times there are a variety of on-going reporting activities including the monthly reporting of business performance to the Group Management Board and the analysis and reporting of the Group’s operating plan.

• In addition, the Senior Business Analyst is expected to play a significant part in identifying and delivering process improvements and improving the quality of management information in Group Finance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with a recognised UK institute or overseas equivalent, with strong academics

• Previous experience in a management reporting / decision support analytical role. Financial services experience is preferred but not essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complicated financial issues clearly and concisely.

• Strong analytical skills with a commercial bias, an excellent grasp of business drivers and a pro-active approach to problem solving.

• Proven influencing skills and an ability to engage and build relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior management.

• Ambitious, driven and enthusiastic. Proactive and a self-starter.

• Able to manage a demanding workload without significant management oversight.

• Good understanding of IFRS.
