Finance Change (MI) – Lead Business Analyst
The Finance Change function focuses on business driven, strategic and tactical change initiatives and provides Project Managers and Business Analysts accountable for end to end delivery of global projects across the business.
Main Function
Standard MI project is a group-wide initiative to deliver a strategic solution for standardised MI reporting based on a defined Target Operating Model across all business units. This will facilitate Senior Executive dialogue on month end business performance by providing a 'single version of truth' produced in a simplified and automated process
The project will require coordination with reporting teams in each of the individual business areas as well as the Group reporting teams to identify a target process framework and data dictionary
The project sponsor is Head of Finance, so the project has high profile and is one of the top priority Finance projects for the bank. It is one of the first group-wide Finance Change initiatives to be delivered.
The role is for a senior Business Analyst.
Main Duties
- Working with business to determine and document business requirements. This will involve a thorough consideration of all implications of these requirements to the business, including the identification of any potential issues or functional omissions.
- Working with IT groups to convert requirements into specification.
- Act as the bridge between the business and IT.
- Identification and management of issues/risks with appropriate timely escalation.
- Assisting in the preparation and execution of User Testing.
- Develop and deliver user procedures and training.
- Provide go-live and post implementation support.
- Identify/anticipate obstacles and analyse and propose resolutions
- Understand impact of proposed changes on business areas and processes
- Regular status reporting ensuring clear and consistent updates are provided
Qualifications/Education:
One or more of the following:
- Formal business analysis training / qualifications
- PRINCE2 or similar qualification
- ACA/CIMA or equivalent (2-3 years post qualified)
- Postgraduate education
Experience Required (Essential):
- Business analysis experience in an international Bank or consulting firm within financial services (with focus on banking)
- Previous experience within a Finance related function in a top tier Bank, preferably within an MI reporting function
- Track record of completing business analysis assignments (business requirements gathering testing)
- Excellent business analysis skills
- Strong client liaison and problem solving skills
- Flexible and proactive work style
- Proven ability to meet tight timelines
- Knowledge of Finance functions
- Ability to plan, manage, prioritise and execute detailed tasks
- General accounting knowledge
- Operational experience in a Finance line function within the banking industry
