Finance Director & Business Manager
Saint Pius X Catholic School is a successful and popular 11- 16 school. We aim to build on our recent “Good” judgement from OFSTED (September 2014) by appointing an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Business Manager and Director of Finance to work with Saint Pius X and two of its partner primary schools. The core purpose of the role will be to lead and support the business aspects of all schools in the partnership. As a member of the Senior Leadership Groups in the partner schools, the post holder will work alongside school leaders and governors to develop the role. It will involve leading the Academy conversion process and the development of robust and efficient business systems within the schools. The postholder will maintain and uphold the Catholic ethos and aims of all partnership schools.
The key responsibilities will include:
• Work with existing postholders with responsibility in each partner school for business and finance management to improve and develop business functions in all schools.
• Take a full part in the shared leadership and management of the schools as a member of the senior leadership team.
• Provide high quality leadership and management of the schools’ business functions so that the organisation can run smoothly, efficiently and effectively in the delivery of its core aims.
• Contribute to the preparation, implementation and review of the school improvement plan;
• Provide strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of business activities within the partner schools;
• Be accountable for the operation, maintenance and development of systems, processes and procedures relating to budget, finance, administration, personnel, premises and health and safety at the partner schools.
The role will assume responsibility for Finance, HR, Income generation, Facilities Management and Procurement, so whilst we are looking for applications from astute finance professionals you must be a kin with being involved in the wider business issues and understand how to add value to these areas.
