Position Summary

Execute and manage new business financial planning and modeling for Measured Progress, to include analyzing and evaluating potential strategic investments, third-party alliances and subcontracting, potential acquisitions or divestitures, and other investments as they relate to organization objectives. Provide support to senior management, monitor and model course corrections behind the execution of long range strategic financial plans for the company. Conduct special studies for top management in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, operating cost containment, productivity and sustainability. Additional responsibilities include the following:

Develop, implement and maintain effective new business planning and analysis capability that will provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals, measure performance, and grow both revenue and margin.

Provide financial analysis support for leadership and management to ensure that new business financial targets are set, tracked, and communicated.

Develop/maintain financial models to evaluate business scenarios, new business models, and support business decisions, including diversifying revenue streams.

Provide financial support to strategic projects, key initiatives, and process improvement teams as requested.

Architect and recommend new business pricing/bidding models and strategies to effectively compete in the K-12 testing market.

Provide transaction support for MA, alliances and consortia, including thorough screening, commercial analysis, diligence and valuation of investment and partnering opportunities.

Partner with key business units to analyze efficiency optimization, create quantitative tools and models that measure operational effectiveness, with focus on accelerating new business.

Develop recommended options for new products via license, develop internally, acquire, etc based on quantitative modeling, and links with strategic plans.

Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements, particularly in activities driving new business.

Collect and analyze process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on increased productivity and reduced cost.

Assist senior management with developing, defining, and designing strategic direction working with business development, product development, and product management teams.

Assess the degree of risk impact, timeframe, and cost of re-engineering required to achieve the desired future state.

Qualifications

Master’s Business Administration (MBA)

Minimum of ten (10) years financial planning analysis experience required, to include strategic and new business related partnering across functional areas with effective models and approaches

Proven track record of supporting and accelerating growth

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications financial modeling software; strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (e.g., pivot tables, V-lookup). Ability to mine data across multiple systems and convert into actionable information

Extensive financial modeling and forecasting experience, particularly related to new business

Demonstrated ability to understand business and financial information with the ability to drive business performance in a growth environment

Proven ability to anticipate planning, forecasting and operational issues; to redesign models to address emerging business needs, and determine the impact, and to develop and implement an appropriate action plan

Strong project management skills

Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills and ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear and concise manner with all levels of management
