Finance Director – Spanish-speaking recruitment
You will be a qualified accountant and fluency in Spanish is a pre-requisite. You will have an accounting background, ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm, and be keen to make your first move into industry or further your career in this sector. An enthusiasm for the role, which will include some global travel along with a willingness to coach younger team members, is crucial.
This role involves a number of important responsibilities including:
- Monthly reporting of management accounts to Group Finance;
- Monthly management accounts production by business unit;
- Managing the month-end close process ensuring completeness, timeliness and accuracy of the PL and Balance Sheet submissions;
- All tax returns, payroll returns and preparation of corporation tax returns;
- Responsibility to work with senior management to develop area budget and forecasts;
- Contribute to the on-going development of financial systems and processes on a global basis;
- Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies;
- Ensure all necessary information is prepared accurately for Group finance external reporting:
- Assisting Group CFO with information for treasury and cashflow purposes;
- Managing sector working capital by monitoring and proactively managing the balance sheets;
- Actively work to improve efficiency, through use of technology and changing internal processes;
- Conduct annual appraisals and on-going training of team members;
- Other projects as assigned by senior management.
With a role of this nature the following person profile would be an ideal fit:
- A professional accounting qualification is essential;
- Strong technical knowledge in accounting, financial reporting and financial management;
- Good knowledge of reporting systems, processes and IT skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP is an advantage;
- Good awareness of the local Spanish tax environments including employment taxes, sales taxes and Corporation Tax;
- Fluency in Spanish is essential (English – preferred);
- An enthusiasm both to lead a team of junior members and be part of the management team;
- An ability to multi-task and prioritise under tight time constraints;
- An ability to collaborate on problems and provide creative solutions.
