Position Description:

It delivers solutions for all listed asset classes from equities, fixed income, derivatives and commodities to FX.
SunGard, a global leader in software solutions for financial services is seeking a Financial Director for its MarketMap product line with Financial Systems. This position will work closely with the senior management team to understand and oversee the financial statements while being the primary liaison to the remote shared services accounting team.
The Financial Director reports directly to the Segment Financial Officer with dual reporting to the Product Line President.
Main Responsibilities are:
• Manage all aspects of the corporate forecasting and budgeting processes ensuring efficient, timely and accurate forecasts to provide transparency into the financial forecasts evaluating the performance to plan and initiating change when necessary
• Provide financial support to the executive management team, acting as the key resource to management in optimizing the operating model while uncovering and understanding potential impacts to the financial statements
• Work very closely with the President and Sales Management to review sales activity and contractual agreements before and during negotiation to evaluate revenue recognition and other accounting issues
• Manage the information flow for the accounting close process through centralized shared service accounting centers in oversight of the financial statements (income statement and balance sheets) to insure corporate reporting deadlines are met both timely and accurate.
• Working with shared services, maintain an effective system of internal controls. Ensure the product line is performing proscribed Sarbanes Oxley testing and prepare quarterly disclosure information
• Assist the shared service team to ensure all statutory financial statements and related tax filings are completed and filed with the appropriate jurisdictions on a timely basis
• Assist in coordinating any audits and filings for legal entities where required for regulated or foreign entities both internal and external
• Mentor and develop a geographically dispersed team of four, two local to Geneva, two in the United States
• Working closely with Business Unit and Segment management on acquisitions, financial modelling, due diligence and post-closing integration.
Position Requirements:
• 7+ years relevant experience - past experience in Market Data industry would definitely be required
• Qualifications in Accounting/Finance, Advanced Degree/CPA
• Fluent English, both German or French a strong advantage
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP with an understanding of software revenue recognition
• Strong technical Excel skills including knowledge of SAP or SunAccounts a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well independently under strict deadlines.
