Finance Director UK & Ireland – Safetykleen recruitment

Safetykleen is a highly profitable, acquisitive, PE backed group that provides industrial parts-washing cleaning services, hazardous waste management and waste oil recycling. The Finance Director UK Ireland’s remit covers some 18 branches and this network represents the group’s largest revenue and profit stream. The role reports to the UK Managing Director and sits on the UK leadership team, with a dotted line in to the Director of Group Finance. 

Key duties will include:

•  Acting as Business Partner to the UK Ireland MD and Leadership Team, providing strategic and commercial decision making support.

•  Improving commercial controls, working closer with non-financial managers and driving business partnering for better decision support. Enabling a more collaborative culture through the finance team, and providing the UK leadership team with sound commercial advice. 

•  Review reports and analyse projections of sales and income against actuals and suggest ways to improve the planning process. Assess the long term financial trends and advise on future growth and new product areas. Act as early warning on revenue and profit re-forecasts. 

•  Preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and other regulatory reports. Providing advice on financial strategy. Responsible for the annual budget process, capex process and working capital improvements.

The ideal candidate will be:

•  Hands-on, an accomplished driver of change and an energetic people person. Experienced in working across a multi-site, complex service organisation and skilled in providing improved operational and commercial efficiencies.

•  A graduate and qualified accountant, who has prior management experience and leadership success. IT savvy, they should have had involvement in implementing financial systems ideally including post acquisition integration.  

•  A proven business partner with a customer focus who has worked with commercial functions. Yet also, able to demonstrate a strong control background and appreciation of corporate governance.
