Finance Integrated Reporting Accountant

Role Purpose:
Group technology IT is an international business areas, with senior finance leads in all regions. In their quest to optimise their service model, the UBS Finance team are going through significant changes. This role has been modified during the transformation programme and now focuses on managing the 3billion IT cost base across all streams.
Your primary areas of responsibility will be to manage the budget and various KPI’s on a monthly basis to provide accurate and timely financial information to both the stream CFO’s and finance leads.
You will be called upon to provide solutions for optimising the current processes and aid in the Offshoring plan. In this broad role, you will perform operational tasks and help train up a new offshore team which should be implemented soon.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Preparation and analysis of monthly reports around actual and forecast costs
- Managing the cross billing process and report on under / over recoveries
- Including consolidation, validation and submission
- Development and enhancement of reporting solutions and forecasting
- Significant Ad Hoc analysis / reporting which would require building and maintaining working relationships within the CFO client base as well as the wider FIR community.
- Some project work based around the transition of activities to the offshore vendor
A large part of this role requires consolidation and validation on a day to day basis of various reports and submissions. You will be reaching out to the streams for input and preparing slides for inclusion in the monthly management pack.
Requirements
- Graduate with at least 3 years post graduate experience (significant and relevant reporting, controlling, accounting experience)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Ability to work effectively at both the detailed level and at a high level
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to deliver high quality results in an efficient manner and under time pressure.
- The role can see high volume of output required over a relatively short period often with a quick turnaround time. Good time management skills are a must.
- The role also has significant client interaction so the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is important.
- Ability to adjust to a changing environment.
- Some exposure to change management / project based work would be an advantage.
- Experience of working in a virtual team environment is useful.
- Be comfortable to challenging client decisions, if necessary
- A broad understanding of IT products and services
- Excellent command of MS-Office, particularly Excel
- Fluent English skills in oral and written form are a must.
- The role is based in London. However the plan is that 50% of this role could be off-shored.
