Industry leading organisational and functional model changes at Deutsche Bank have been embedded to provide the opportunity for FDM's (Finance Director/Manager) to operate as true CFO's. This exciting FDM role is within the team supporting the Global Rates and Commodities (GRC) Businesses.

Global Rates is a multi-award winning business (Risk Magazine Derivative house of the year many years running) is a major contributor to the bottom line of the Deutsche Bank Franchise and is well diversified in its product offering. The business model can be broken down into the following broad categories:

Commodities has wide-ranging physical and financial experience across all commodity asset classes. The business provides a full service to commercial, sovereign and investor customers and is consistently ranked by clients as a leading provider. The business model can be broken down into the following broad categories:

Agricultural Products

Crude and Refined Products
Industrial/Precious Metals
Carbon Emissions
In this challenging role you will be part of a small team with the mission to protect and create value across the desks listed above and most importantly the Deutsche Bank Franchise.

The changing regulatory environment will have huge impacts upon the GRC business model and Finance needs to be proactively involved and linked in to the evolving landscape.

As financial resources become increasingly scarce and are constraints upon business growth, it becomes essential that Finance increases its focus on Balance Sheet and RWA usage. This purpose of this role is to work closely with the business to review current usage and identify new and innovative ways to optimise these scarce resources whilst ensuring the integrity of the Financials.

This role will cover all aspects of the core FD agenda including VC, Business Planning, New Business Evaluation and Impact of Future Events.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Changes

Leverage the specialist functions within Deutsche Bank to understand the regulatory changes and the potential impacts to the Business model, work with Front Office to minimize the impacts.
Understand impact of IFRS changes, and help suggest strategies for minimizing impact on business model
Validation and Control (VC)

Monthly VC of the B/S and RWA for GRC via review of trends outliers
Review Asset Liquidity Charges proposal for 2012
Stale position/Liquidity review
Banking book vs Trading book review
IFRS7 Level 3 assets review
Enhanced Reporting

Development of weekly balance sheet flash to include attribution and commentary
Development of monthly GRC FRM pack to mirror CIB FRM pack
Development of monthly balance sheet packs for financial presentation at monthly product Excos
Planning and Forecasting

Balance Sheet and TCD planning and quarterly review meeting including analysis versus proposed initiatives
Key Interactions/Stakeholders

Desk Heads and Senior Traders/Structurers - the FDM group is the main entry point for all requests from Front Office for Finance services. One of the enablers of the FDM success as a trusted advisor will be the ability to strengthen this relationship through demonstrating a strong commercial understanding of regulatory issues impacting their businesses.
Other Finance Groups - the FDM function has strategic partners across the Finance organisation globally, including Analytics, COO and specialist groups. The ability to challenge, influence, interact and prioritise within the Finance organisation will be another key enabler to FDM success.
Other Infrastructure Groups - due to the nature of the businesses, the FDM group has varying degrees of interaction with Credit Risk Management (CRM), Market Risk Management (MRM), Legal, and Compliance

You will have:

Experience of Rates, Commodities and RMBS products
Strong Financial Control or Regulatory Reporting background
Proven leadership and influencing skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
