Finance Manager, Group External Reporting

A leading Banking Group is seeking a qualified accountant to join their Group External Reporting team, mainly to focus on financial reporting, legal entity control, external reporting, and consolidation work, and there will also be an active cross over with the Group Accounting Policy team. There will be a large element of project work too, with regards to new IFRS rules and reporting requirements, as well as ad-hoc process improvement responsibilities.

Reporting in to the Senior Manager, you will have oversight for a number of more junior members of the team, but you will not have direct management responsibilities, allowing you to be involved in more value add work. There will be a lot of advisory based interaction with senior level stakeholders so strong inter-personal skills are essential. Career-wise, this organisation can stand behind a long history with regards to internal mobility, so if you work hard and perform in the role, you will get developed and have a long lasting and fruitful career with the organisation.

Candidate requirements:

* Qualified ACA/CA ideally from a Big 4 firm, with at least 3 years post qualified experience gained within a Financial Accounting role with a FTSE250+ organisation; previous financial services experience is not essential.

* Relevant financial reporting experience with a large/complex organisation, preferably within a Group Finance capacity.

* Strong knowledge of IFRS is essential.

* Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems/queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.

* Ability to communicate complex financial issues confidently to management and senior stakeholders.

* Ability to design, document and communicate analytical procedures to provide assurance over external financial statements.
