Finance Manager – Malaysia recruitment
Position Summary:
The Finance Manager is responsible for the provision of accurate accounting records for the Malaysia businesses in accordance with U.S. and local accounting standards and corporate controls. The incumbent will also play a key management role by providing financial analysis and modeling, comprehensive reporting, and other critical support functions to achieve plans and objectives.
The role will have a dual reporting relationship to the Chief Financial Officer, Asia Pacific and the Malaysia General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Provide financial management for the Malaysia business unit.
- Manage the month-end closing process; lead the revenue recognition process with Operations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements (Flash report), forecast, performance dashboard and related analysis to facilitate Monthly operating reviews.
- Ensure all internal controls are in place and policies are compliant with local and U.S. GAAP reporting requirements.
- Ensure accounting records are prepared, maintained and reported in accordance with local and U.S. GAAP.
- Direct financial modeling and analysis to evaluate projects and strategic initiatives for revenue growth and/or cost reduction programs to enhance profitability and return.
- Support corporate cash management and US tax reporting
- Interact regularly with BU and APAC management to provide counsel and guidance regarding financial and strategic matters.
- Perform all other activities, as directed.
Qualification Requirements:
- Qualified accountant
- Minimum of five years of finance and managerial experience in construction and/or engineering is preferred.
- Must have local regulatory reporting experience.
- Fluent English is essential with the command of Bahasa a distinct advantage. Ability to write management reports and prepare business correspondences. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Excellent mathematical skills and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and other fundamental business related mathematics.
- Ability to solve problems with practical solutions and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be independent and mature with strong leadership skills and the ability to quickly impact bottom-line results and able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower an organization. In addition, must be a strong communicator and be able to take the initiative to function without day-to-day guidance.
