The role
You will be responsible for the financial management of around 16 investments in the private equity portfolio. You will maintain accurate accounting records and reporting while supporting investment teams to deliver the commercial success of UK and international projects. Your main responsibilities will involve:
- Working closely with the investment deal team to ensure that the investment set up and approval process is efficiently completed, supporting them in the ongoing management of each investment;
- Ensuring all elements of the accounting and financial management of investments are regularly reviewed and steps are taken to address any actions required (e.g. month end review and sign off, adjustments to equity / capital structures, monitoring arrears)
- Ensuring all aspects of carry vehicles are accurate and reflect their underlying investments.
- Responsible for the review, and sign off, of statutory and internal allocation accounts prepared by the administrators in relation to carry and fund accounts.
- Understanding the performance and key issues for each investment so you can add value to reporting and act as point person for financial and data enquiries from the portfolio company and from other company teams.
- Ensuring the accuracy of data and key documents on all financial and information systems
- Maintaining ongoing communication with administrators around the processing of data on each investment
- Acting as a central point of contact for financial and data enquiries from the portfolio company and other company teams
- Managing the completion of in-depth valuation reviews for each investment while adding value to the stages of the process
- Ensuring high quality portfolio write ups for the Fund Investor Relations team
Who they are looking for
To be considered for this excellent role, you must:
- Be a qualified accountant with no more than circa 2 years PQE
- Have previous experience in either financial accounting and management reporting in either private equity gained in either practice or outside or a regulated financial services company
- Have the flexibility to travel across Europe and overseas to support international investments
- Have strong project management, problem solving and Excel skills
- Have the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise closely with the deal teams
Fluency in French/Spanish/Italian/German is highly desirable.
