Finance Manager/Controller
Our York based client is an established business that are currently looking to recruit a CIMA qualified accountant to support the CEO and take responsibility for the finance function of the business.
To ensure that the Company has adequate financial resources to meet its financial obligations, provide the Board with sound financial advice to enable it to deliver its Business Plan, manage key external relationships and deliver long-term growth in shareholder value
· Accountable for overall control of the accounting function
· Formulates Financial targets and plans to deliver the Board’s strategy
· Deliver budgets and regular financial information to the Board including an interpretation and analysis
· Forecasts the impact of alternative course of action
· Determination of accounting policies
· Takes account of all technical issues to ensure compliance with GAAP and other required standards
· Ensures all other regulatory requirements are met
· Plans to minimise tax burden within existing and planned legislation
· Plans, raises and manages the required level of debt and equity to fund the Board’s plans
· Works to prevent anticipated working capital shortfalls within lending facilities
· Protects the interests of the shareholders
· Manages lending, investor, audit, customer, key supplier and credit insurance relationships, including where appropriate, alternates
· Manages and develops the Finance Administration Manager and Finance team
· Challenges the Board’s plans to determine whether they will deliver the long term plans for the shareholders
· Identifies and delivers acquisitions/ disposals
· Regularly reviews the overall business systems for efficiency gain/ cost savings, particularly with regard to technology change
