Finance Operational Risk Coordinator – Senior Manager / AVP recruitment
The Finance Risk function works with various areas within Finance (including Corporate Controllers, Tax, Corporate Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Corporate Treasury and Valuation Review Group) to identify and mitigate risks specific to the Finance Division. The Finance Operational Risk Coordinator will work with individuals within Finance to ensure that these areas are adequately reporting and addressing risks specific to their areas of responsibility. The function will work to coordinate identification of processes (P), risks (R) and controls (C) consistent, and to identify and manage inherent and residual risks through established action plans and periodic monitoring of remediation steps. The Finance Operational Risk Coordinator will also be responsible for :
- Liaising with the Finance Risk Management team and risk manager counterparts to ensure divisional alignment on risk management programs
- Representing business area in risk forums and initiatives within Finance as well as external groups / clients
- Developing Process-Risk-Control (PRC) Taxonomy and Risk Control Self Assessment program
- Ongoing enhancement, process integration, and proactive management once initial PRC / RCSA is established
- Driving alignment of risk priorities with business-specific Change Management and IT agenda
- Identifying, developing, and managing key risk indicators in partnership with the Central Risk Reporting team – including facilitation of risk remediation as required
- Leading execution of risk-aligned Change the Bank initiatives
- Liaising with other control groups and Internal Audit to identify and mitigate risk factors.
Skills Required
- BS Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience
- Proven Financial Services Industry / Financial Audit or a Control/Risk Function
- Strong Project Management experience with the ability to drive an agenda without close supervision required as this role will be involved in a number of long and short term projects
- Strong Finance background
- Experience in risk management (particularly operational risk) and knowledge of risk management processes and principles (such as Risk Control Self Assessments and Key Risk Indicator Reporting)
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with all levels, including senior level influencing and meeting facilitation
- Ability to coordinate with Firm Operational Risk and various functions within the Finance Division on different phases of risk related initiatives including Identification of processes, inherent risk, controls and residual risk
- Ability to Identify, develop and report key risk indicators in partnership with various Finance functions and ensure that corrective action plans are put in place to address high risk gaps and/or deficiencies
- Preferred: versed in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related Regulatory and control concepts
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results
