The role: Finance Project Manager, New Product Introduction
The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. You thrive on making processes more efficient and scalable, you work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations and you proactively minimize operational risk. Externally, you collaborate with our outsourcing partners and internally, you collaborate across the five areas of the Financial Operations team: Global Revenue Operations, Procure to Pay, Electronic Payment Services, Business Process Outsourcing, and Payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Act as project manager for the creation of new financial systems and system sub-components
- Act as the primary point of contact with financial operations, engineering, sales finance, treasury and local country business finance controllers to design accounting and financial reporting requirements for new billing, payment and financial reporting systems.
- Design and execute financial user acceptance test plans for new platforms.
- Ensure internal controls on the expanding financial platforms are in place and operating effectively. Find ways of improving existing financial operations processes.
- Coach, train and guide junior staff members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Business Administration (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
- 5 years relevant work experience in GAAP accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA.
- 10 years relevant work experience in GAAP accounting.
- Experience with internal audit, ERP system design, mergers acquisition integrations or payment systems.
- Project management experience, ability to breakdown complex processes into discrete components, develop and execute project schedules and run results-oriented meetings.
- Ability to understand and communicate big picture objectives while being detail oriented and thorough on assignments.
- Leadership skills, ability to take ownership of projects, set objectives, drive to results and influence without authority.
