Finance Support Contractor

Our client is one of the UK strongest retail bank with offices in Canary Wharf and products spread between retail, corporate, private and investment banking.

Based in our client's head office and reporting to the Corporate Relations VP, we are looking for a qualified accountant to create a spreadsheet-based reporting model from source data, in order to provide bespoke MI budget reports to Corporate Relations stakeholders.

The three key core skills required are:

Develop granular cost/FTE management information reporting
• Support the end to end cost reporting for Corporate Relations function
• Develop an MS Excel model for bespoke, granular MI by cost centre/team level
• Support control of costs including oversight for accruals, prepayments and management information to stakeholders
• Support provision of cost commentary for MI on variances to budget
• Identification and resolution or escalation of risks
• Communication of monthly financials and STP/MTP/RAF (budget) updates to team leads
• Challenge the current set-up by finding more efficient ways of servicing the team needs
• Ad-hoc finance support across the wider team, e.g. loading budget numbers to systems

Support MI for Corporate Relations across all business units
• Support all business units with granular and consolidated MI on costs and FTE
• Support team for the coordination and oversight for functional planning and forecasting, across all business units
• Maintain and operate fit-for-purpose datasets for reporting, planning and analysis and alignment to Functional Reporting Cube / common control data sets

Control and documentation – 10%
• Early identification, communication and resolution or escalation of all control issues
• Continuous process improvement

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with excellent spreadsheet/Excel skills as well as good cost reporting experience within a banking environment.

£350/day. Canary Wharf based.
