Position Description:
Within the Firm, the VRG (Valuation Review Group) is responsible
for approving valuation methodologies by performing regular
independent mark reviews across all of the Firm's inventory and
managing valuation risk. The VRG also offers support via the supply
of data for various financial accounting standard-related
disclosures. Covering the Special Situations Group (SSG) businesses
across the region, this role has these core responsibilities:
- Review valuation templates / models to ensure they are
appropriate and correctly documented.
- Perform on-going research into relevant economics, industry
sectors and specific companies in order to gain comfort over
subjective valuation inputs.
- Review quarterly mark review of the SSG businesses illiquid
positions valuations templates including documentation of results
and conclusions.
- Review results of monthly price testing covering the liquid
positions of the SSG businesses.
- Produce a monthly Valuation Risk report for the SSG business
commenting on the mark review results and highlighting valuation
risks.
- Assist with quarterly accounting disclosures with respect to Fair
Value Measurement hierarchy.
Skills Required:
- Advanced Microsoft Office Excel Skills.
- Prior valuation and/or mark review experience covering
Fundamental Analysis, Discounted Cashflow Recovery Analysis
type valuation methodologies over Special Situations/Distressed
credit, Investments or Private Equity businesses required.
- Candidates with more experience may be considered at Vice
President level.
Skills Desired:
- Solid accounting knowledge / accounting qualifications an
advantage.
