Financial Accountant / Audit
My client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their busy team, working out of their Swansea office.
This will be initially be a temporary contract with the view of permanent employment after the first 3 months is completed.
Ideally you will be part qualified, have previous experience working in a sizeable practice or financial accounting environment. Any Audit experience is welcomed.
Main responsibilities:
Preparation of annual financial statements and periodic management accounts
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Advising clients on accounting / general business matters
Demonstrating awareness of compliance legislation e.g. VAT, tax, PAYE
Keeping Partners and Managers up to date with progress on assignments
Providing support and training to clients for computerised accounting software, e.g. Sage Xero
Overseeing and supporting the work of more junior team members
Act without supervision in completing an accounts file for a small company, partnership or sole-trader
Competent in preparing a small medium company accounts to a high degree of accuracy
Competent in preparing/assisting clients with management accounts
Assisting on client audit assignments and preparing audit files for manager review
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting and statutory reporting standards
Able to assist managers with adhoc accounting or administrative tasks

The successful candidate should:
Demonstrate care for clients and colleagues by providing an excellent client service and ultimately adding value to their business
Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills – critically evaluate issues; take appropriate action to design pragmatic solutions with good commercial acumen
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
Be able to meet deadlines and demonstrate effectiveness within a team environment
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of accounting software packages, particularly Sage.
A knowledge of IRIS products would be beneficial
Have advanced excel skills
