Financial Accountant / Statutory Review and Challenge Manager recruitment

Group Finance includes central finance areas, specialist teams and divisional finance teams which support our front-line businesses. Our specialist teams are; Global Finance Services, Group Chief Accountant's, Group Corporate Finance, Group Finance Business and Executive Support, Group Financial Planning and Analysis, Group Internal Audit, Group Strategy, Group Tax, Group Treasury, and Investor Relations. Our divisional teams are; Business Services Finance, Corporate Banking Finance, Markets and International Banking (MIB), Non-Core and APS Finance, and Retail, Wealth and Ulster (RWU) Finance.

This is comprised of central finance areas, specialised teams and divisional finance teams supporting the front-line businesses in over 30 international locations. Finance is responsible for working with the business delivering financial leadership, control, commercial insight and advice.            

As Financial Accountant / Statutory Review and Challenge Manager, your teams primary role is to review and challenge divisional financial core and quarterly supplementary data, and manage changes in the Group reporting requirements, as well as delivering effective process improvements. You'll also prepare and have ownership of key financial disclosures and quarterly reviews. And you'll challenge core data disclosures and monthly balance sheet reviews.

To be successful as Financial Accountant / Statutory Review and Challenge Manager, you'll be a highly driven qualified Accountant, with the ability to work in a relatively autonomous environment, and a sound understanding of the financial reporting process and understanding of and appetite to explore International Accounting Standards. You'll be an effective ambassador for the Statutory Review and Challenge team, and naturally have strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills as well as strong engagement and presentation skills.
