Financial Accounting Manager, Bromley recruitment

 • Ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and completely in accordance with the Group Accounting Manual, cost management guidelines, IAS, legal, regulatory, RBS and supervisory requirements and industry body codes of practice by performing the first level review of the service company numbers to ensure the quality and integrity of data;

• Initiate the drafting and setting of cost accounting policies and guidelines;

• Review the preparation of the monthly reports for cost centre managers, divisional and group decision support managers, as well as reports for the Executive and the Finance Transformation Boards;

• Maintain cost centre and account code combinations and hierarchies;

• Approve the balance sheet reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are dealt with in accordance with Group Policy and risk issues addressed;

• Identify and drive forward process improvements, cost and efficiency and customer service;

• Manage the preparation of accurate and timely statutory accounts; VAT Returns and Corporation Tax computations for submission to RBS Group Tax;

• Provide SME resource for project support across Direct Line Group

• Ensure adherence to RBS Group and Direct Line Group accounting and control policies;

• Manage, motivate and develop a team to maximise performance and to enable team members to fulfil their potential and develop self in order to maximise personal contribution.
