Financial Accounting Senior Manager recruitment

Financial Accounting Senior Manager for the North America Balance Sheet Control Group. The individual will drive and execute various initiatives and re-engineering opportunities in partnership with Citi's global businesses and Financial Reporting Operations.

The North America Balance Sheet Control Group (NAM BSCG) is a part of the North America Controller's organization and provides accounting guidance, control, and support for all business units that roll to the North America region. Additionally, the North America BSCG plays an integral role in the Global Balance Sheet Control Group by assisting with and leading various Global special projects and initiatives.

The purpose of this job is to support the North America Controllers Organization through a variety of work-streams which includes supporting the North America Controller, Citi Controller, and the North America Account Review Committee. Additionally, the individual who fulfills this position will be expected to support and field questions arising from individuals at all levels across multiple businesses and will also be expected to play a lead role in various regional and global initiatives.

BAU responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

- Participate in and lead calls related to various projects and initiatives impacting the North America region
- Completing a Regional Account Review program
- Preparation of presentations and analysis for Senior Management including the North America Controller and the Citi Controller
- Drafting accounting guidelines
- Reviewing regional results and take action accordingly
- Identify cross business/ regional issues and develop solutions
- Support NAM Business Unit Controllers
- Support the NAM Account Review Committee
- Review work performed by other team members

Take a lead role with various ad-hoc special projects and initiatives impacting the North America region including:

- CitiGL
- Genesis
- eRecon related initiatives
- Global BSCG initiatives
- VOE related initiatives as required

Skills

Candidate will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience with a degree in accounting from accredited institution, a proven track record for success, and preferably be a CPA or working towards obtaining certification.

The selected individual must possess the following skills:

- Advanced problem solving / analytical skills (will be required to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously)
- The candidate must have the ability to identify accounting issues and follow through with adjustments as needed
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Versatility and high degree of flexibility required. Must have solid accounting knowledge base and be able to quickly translate knowledge to communicate with individuals across various areas of the business. Must be able to accommodate intermittent high stresses due to reporting deadlines and changes in priorities.
- Must possess a strong sense of accountability. Will be required to take responsibility for accurate and timely completion of assignments and will be required to produce accurate financial information on a consistent basis.
- Must be willing to take a lead role within the team and provide assistance and support to other team members
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Access
- Advanced Business Objects preferred
