Financial Analyst
Position Description:
Financial Analyst - Knowledge of FARS/DFARS is a Plus
Reports to: Sr Director Proposals
Job Summary:
Performs analytical and research-related activities for the development of proposals in accordance with RFP specifications. Coordinates the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments. Researches and analyzes historical data, develops cost models to support proposal efforts. Coordinates activities and participates in fact-finding meetings. Participates in should-cost and pricing reviews with management and customer represantatives. Assists in the roll-out and administration of functionally-specific initiatives. May participate as a member of the contract negotiating team. May assist in the development and implementation of new departmental techniques and methods. May assist in training entry level employees.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance or related field
- Master's is preferred
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- High attention to detail
- Knowledge of Propricer is a plus
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Work is performed without considerable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- Contributes to and/or ensures the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in moderate delays and expenditure of additional resources.
- Problems cover a wide range of complex / difficult issues which require research and analysis of alternatives involving many factors. Solutions require the integration of complicated concepts and may require considerable creative thought.
- Contacts are both inside and outside TS (i.e. customers, vendors), requiring interactions with managers (inside and outside TS) and examining and discussing solutions to difficult / complex issues associated with specific projects. May require access to and use of very confidential information.
- This position serves as a resource to others within the work group / department, and may serve as a resource to others across the organization.
- This position may be responsible for allocating work and/or providing guidance to other employees whom perform work that is similar or closely related to this job.
Education:
- Position typically calls for a Masters Degree with 3+ years of experience
- Or a Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of experience.
