FINANCIAL ANALYST
Definition and Nature of the Work:
Responsible for providing analysis and information to the Walton Asset Management’s Executive team and the executives of our sister company, Walton Development Management (USA), Inc. and acts as the focal point for inquiries on all matters pertaining to investor returns regarding horizontal real estate development projects. Provides the functional expertise in Microsoft Excel and how to use Excel to project the financial performance of development projects as well as provides liaison support to Corporate Finance. This position is located in Walton Asset Management (USA), Inc.’s regional office in New York – Midtown Manhattan.
This position reports directly to the President, Walton Asset Management (USA), Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quarterly reporting, financial reporting, planning, forecasting, budget analysis, scheduling and special projects
- Developing financial models and conducting company research
- Analyzing data to help advise WDM and WAM in managing ongoing projects through the pipeline identification and modeling processes
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations
- Analyzing the progress of WDM projects on an ongoing basis and provide updates to executives
- Read offering documents and understand the impact on financial performance based on language in said offering documents
- Performing research associated with Offering documents
- Supporting the development and writing of the Offering documents
- Maintaining CRM Database
- Provide support to Sr. Financial Analyst and Vice President.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, business or related field
Solid understanding of capital markets and the real world implications of varying investment structures
Highly advanced spreadsheet modeling skills
2+ years of experience in a similar position/environment, alternate asset space
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels in the organization.
Ability to take initiative and function independently balanced with strong teaming skills.
Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
Proficient in MS Office Suite applications
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Investment industry and/or real estate experience a plus
Travel required
