Financial Analyst

Our client, a top tier investment bank, is looking to recruit a Cost Financial Analyst into their finance department. This role resides within the stream Group Operations. Working as a member of this team, you will be the main point of contact for the CFO business partners of Group Operations. You will partly be dealing directly with the business functions on operational matters such as forecast and commentary collection, partly with the respective CFO units on strategic and ad-hoc matters and partly be engaged in close collaboration across the different Centre of Excellence Costs streams.

Key responsibilities:

• Business partnering with Group Operations functions respectively its Finance business partners, being the primary point of contact for all financial details
• Understanding the main drivers within the cost base and ensuring these are controlled to stay within budget.
• Providing client support for forecasting processes and cost related initiatives
• Preparation and analysis of monthly reports including flash, forecast, plan and providing detailed commentary
• Oversight of month end processes (e.g. corrections, variance analysis)
• Preparation of ad-hoc analysis and reports
• Development and enhancement of reporting solutions
• Contributing to the preparation of presentations for management
• Establish collaborative working relationships with the CFO clients of the respective functions as well as with the business management units
• Leverage best practice between the different FIR streams and across the wider CFO community

Essential Requirements:

• Significant and relevant reporting, controlling, accounting experience
• Recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA)
• A holistic understanding of processes
• A proven record of working for senior Finance clients
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Ability to work effectively at both the detailed level and at a high level
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to deliver high quality results in an efficient manner and under time pressure
• Excellent time management skills
• Experience of working in a global team with global clients is essential
• Efficient and effective command of MS-Office, particularly Excel
• Fluent English skills in oral and written form is a must

For this role you will be required to engage in projects and initiatives that run in close collaboration with the Finance business partners in the CFO unit, who act as the senior point of contact towards the business functions. This role reports directly into the Control function lead for FIR Centre of Excellence Costs, but has a dotted line responsibility to the CFO leads for Group
