Financial Analyst

We are seeking a Financial Analyst, to join our growing Finance Department at our Corporate Office in Calabasas, CA

 

The Financial Analyst will be actively engaged in the Forecasting and Budgeting processes with direct accountability for GA Divisions. This individual will have in-depth financial perspective of his/her respective departments and will perform additional project-based analyses as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Provide direct financial support for select GA departments in development of the FY2012 Annual Operating Plan (AOP) including the PL and capital plan

·         Develop monthly financial forecasts including the PL and capital spending

·         Conduct and consolidate insightful variance analyses to fully understand the drivers of business performance and to identify potential issues and opportunities.  Effectively communicate this information to senior management

·         Develop discounted cash flow models to support capital investment decisions and ensure value creation

·         Perform ad hoc analyses as necessary

·         Indirect support of implementation of new budgeting forecasting tool (TM1), including data validation and running of test scripts

·         Additional duties as assigned by the manager

 

Education and/or Experience:

·         4+ years’ experience in financial management, with the majority of that experience in an operational finance role

·         A degree from a nationally recognized institution with outstanding academic credentials

·         Retail and/or consumer products experience

·         Proven ability to build strong business relationships at all levels throughout an organization

·         Experience as a strategic thinker and the ability to effectively translate strategies into financial plans

·         A self-directed individual able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and business conditions

·         Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced business environment with ability to consistently meet tight deadlines

·         Solid analytical skills and intellectual curiosity with the ability to develop and maintain complex financial models

·         Well-developed presentation skills

·         Considerable experience with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel and intermediate Access and Powerpoint skills) and other financial software / systems.  Lawson and TM1 or other relational database experience beneficial.

 

Physical Requirements:

·         General office environment, ability to sit for long periods of time.  Ability to move about an office.
