Financial Analyst, Corporate Strategic Planning Transactions - #110564
This new position at LyondellBasell Industries, Inc. will be a key resource within the Strategic Planning Transactions (SPT) group, providing Senior Management with conceptual, economic and business analysis necessary to make strategic business decisions with respect to the company's business portfolio. Initial emphasis will be in support of the investor relations efforts and will include analysis of the company's performance relative to peers and communications with the investment community.
This business-savvy professional will interface with Corporate Executives, Business Management, and functional groups such as Legal, and the CFO organization. The incumbent will also interface with external groups such as investors, investment bankers, and industry consultants.
Requirements
- Create presentations and other communication materials for executive management and Board of Directors meetings, earnings releases, investor conferences, industry events, and frequent meetings with Wall Street analysts and institutional investors
- Evaluate capital structure and uses of cash for MA and organic growth opportunities.
- Possess an understanding of corporate finance, financial modeling and analytical tools (DCF, IRR, payback).
- Analyze corporate financial performance and competitive market position on an absolute and relative to peers basis.
- Serve as a point of contact for the investment community (buy-side, sell-side).
- Analyze, interpret and convey the drivers of the company and industry performance to the executive management and the financial community including equity and debt markets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field of study, required
- MBA and/or CPA preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
- 3-5 years current experience in planning, evaluation, business and financial analysis are essential, although high potential individuals could be considered with 2+ years of relevant, advanced experience.
- Experience in the petrochemical, the investment banking or consulting fields would be very beneficial.
- Highly proficient in PC skills, including XL spreadsheets, Power Point and advanced financial modeling.
- Fast thinker, quick learner and team player are "must have" attributes.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills consistent with a client group including Senior Managers Executives.
- Must be able to distill complex business/financial situations and questions into simple and clear conclusions and communication tools
