Transcat is seeking an entry-level Financial Analyst to join our team. Successful candidates must possess a bachelor's degree. While prior professional work experience is not a requirement for this entry-level position, a strong interest in corporate financial planning analysis activities and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products are a must.

Job Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree from a four-year college; a concentration in finance is a plus
-Prior work experience not required, but a previous internship in a related position is a plus
-Must be proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Access and Word
-Attention to detail and data accuracy is a must
-Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret large populations of data
-Ability to work independently and in a team-environment as required
-Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Summary: The financial analyst position plays an integral role within the Financial Planning Analysis team by supporting corporate budgeting/forecasting activities, corporate reporting of key information, variance analysis, audit activities and ad-hoc analysis projects.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Performs annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities that assist with the consolidation of the corporate financial plan and include coordination of inputs from various departments. Prepares, analyzes and distributes reports summarizing financial results, segment performance and key business trends on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Performs monthly variance analysis of financial results and key corporate metrics and participates in monthly variance reviews with members of the Finance Accounting team. Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly. Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing financial results and other data analysis requirements. Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies. Performs Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control testing. Assists the Director of Financial Planning Analysis with ad-hoc projects and profitability assessments, internal and external reporting requirements and management presentations. Other duties may be assigned.
