Description:
Responsible for preparing information and data necessary for filing rate application as well as other regulatory applications. Completes exhibits, work paper interrogatories and testimony in a timely and accurate fashion. Provides critical information and reports on revenues, tariff issues and so forth. Provides support for the development of the revenue budget, forecast and business plan, and takes the lead in monthly monitoring activities.
Takes the lead in compiling and analyzing financial information for rate cases or other regulatory filings.
Prepares monthly revenue analyses to support internal performance reporting and management action plans.
Supports routine activities requested by commission staff and others.
Analyzes and assesses performance; takes the lead in identifying improvements to the processes in the rates function.
Supports the development of business plans and forecasts in terms of revenue projections and impact analysis (such as planned rate case as well as current rates).
Compiles and analyzes financial information for rate cases or other regulatory filings.
Performs special projects on an assigned basis.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA, CMA, or CFA.
Able to apply a broad knowledge of accounting principles and practices; understands complex accounting (deferred tax, impairment, etc.).
Knowledge of rate case information requirements and some appreciation of rate setting environment; financial systems knowledge, sufficient to allow interrogation of information to prepare rate case requested material, etc.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Has knowledge sufficient to interpret and apply to the work performed at an intermediate professional level:
US GAAP and regulatory accounting and practices, and company policy.
SOX, Rates and Capital Compliance requirements advanced knowledge and the ability to perform activities related to SOX, Rates or Capital compliance.
Able to develop financial analysis for new areas, incorporating relevant information from across the business.
Excellent understanding of industry issues.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, Lotus Notes).
Prior knowledge and experience with JD Edwards, Orcom, or other ERP software a plus.
