Financial Analyst Job in Charlotte, North Carolina US

General Summary:  Provides financial analysis and business analysis for a professional sport’s organization.  Reports to the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Provides financial and business analysis for all aspects of the organization.

·         Develops and maintains financial databases used in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting. 

·         Monitors and tracks key performance indicators, analyzes results and recommends areas for improvement.

·         Assists in and/or conducts financial modeling and variance reporting.

·         Produces accurate and time sensitive financial, business and statistical reports and trend analysis.

·         Ensures organization is compliant and implements best practices that support the organization’s mission and business strategy.

·         Researches and stays current on financial trends and best practices; proactively recommends areas for improvement or risk avoidance.

·         Other duties as assigned by CFO.

 

Education and Work Experience:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and 3 or more years of experience in financial and business analysis OR 5 or more years applicable experience.  Previous applicable work experience in racing industry strongly preferred. 

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts.  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.  Proficient with Microsoft suite of products, organizational skills, oral and written communication skills and teamwork.  Willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.  Current Certified Public Accountant preferred. 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

General office environment.  No special physical demands required.  Some stress may occur when tight deadlines are required or emergencies occur.
