Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst in Financial Planning works under the direction of the Budget Manager to support the Operational and Asset Management teams with financial analysis and reporting. The position maintains integrity of financial data in the financial software, generates regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis, and assists in budgeting duties and responsibilities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities*:

* Loads statistics into Hyperion by moving data from Excel Spreadsheets and Access queries for use in various reports.

* Produces weekly and monthly reports to executive management in the Operations Division in order to assist executive and management-level associates in planning and operating. Weekly reports normally are submitted to properties, Area and Regional leaders, and the Regional Directors of Operations and also to different areas of the Asset Management group as directed. Monthly reports normally report results after the end of a month and are submitted to Operations and Asset Management.

* Manages Essbase databases. Serves as the primary administrator of Essbase: loads, makes changes, maintains security, etc.

* Loads financial and other data into Essbase databases; creates reports from Essbase for executive and other management; information in these reports includes financial trends, actual data, and provides causes and effects.

* Assists in the operational budgeting process; printing reports, analyzing data, and other functions as assigned by the Budget Manager.

* Produces ad hoc analysis and reports as requested; creates one-time reports for special purposes for top-level management team, and others.

* May facilitate the construction and approval process of corporate budgets.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study and two or more years of experience working professionally with financial or budget analysis, or a closely related area. A good understanding of financial statement rollups, financial analysis, and credits and debits. Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel: modeling for budgets and analysis of productivity, reporting, and loading and extracting from specialized financial software; and Access: building queries and reports and exporting data to Excel and other database software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience working with Hyperion and Essbase software. Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL computer languages.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

* Knowledge of budgeting processes and procedures

* Advanced skills and using Microsoft Excel and Access.

* Knowledge of Hyperion and Essbase

* Knowledge of VBA and SQL computer languages

* Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of associates, including non-finance associates

* Ability to think critically and use sound judgment in determining the correct use of data.

* Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
