Job Title: Financial Analyst


Essential Job Functions:

The position’s main responsibility is to support operations unit leaders with financial accounting analysis, with manufacturing costing analysis combined with forecasting analysis.  Special projects will be assigned as required.

 

Primary Responsibilities of Position

·   Perform a variety of month end accounting duties, including: journal entries, analyzing, LPV, PPV, Capitalized Variances, Hourly payroll, Inventory GL reconciliations, and Operation’s Departmental statements within established processes and time frames.

 

·         Perform costing functions in support of the manufacturing process

 

·         Assist in the annual standard cost update process.

 

·         Assist in the weekly and action forecasting process.

 

·         Monthly commentary Analysis of variances and Operational expenses.

 

·         Participate in a variety of special projects by taking the lead/overseeing the project through to completion or by conducting detailed analysis of the advantages and risks to the company; recommend and implement approved solutions that are compatible with other areas of the company.

 

·         Participate in the annual budgeting process that includes identifying cost reduction projects and projected savings.  Within designated time frames, track and report on progress made on assigned projects.

 

·         Perform financial analysis of business unit and support key business unit decisions.

 

·         Presentation of business unit results.

 

·         Special projects as required.

 

Skills and Experience:

·         Demonstrated knowledge in Manufacturing Process.

 

·         Demonstrated experience working with a MRP/ERP system.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to build/maintain Financial Models of different levels of complexity.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to make change and improvement to an existing process.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to relate with others in a team environment.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to establish and work in accordance with policies and procedures.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to use various software packages, including Excel to build forecasting   

            models.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to solve problems.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to use Excel or similar spreadsheet software

 

·         Demonstrated ability to use Access or similar data base software.

 

·         Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo


Education:

Enrolled in the final Level of the CMA or CGA accounting program and minimum 2 years of financial analysis in a manufacturing environment would be an asset, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
