Mitsubishi Electric Electronics USA, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst in the Finance Department in Suwanee, GA.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing financial and modeling expertise for business analysis, planning and reporting across all HVAC lines of business. This position must also develop strong partnerships with Corporate, Field, Marketing, Operations and Accounting groups to assist in decision-making, goal setting and problem solving.
Responsibilities:
· Complete special analysis and projects as requested by the Division Controller, Sr. Director of Strategy Planning, General Manager or other members of Leadership Team.
· Develop clear, fact-based financial plans/forecasts; including monthly projections, annual, mid-year long range plans.
· Analyze financial and operational results versus forecast and plan; investigate significant variances, develop corrective actions and communicate findings to department leaders.
· Anticipate and identify business issues (including performance gaps, opportunities and emerging needs) for management and develop appropriate action plans to maximize business profitability.
· Participate in the development of models and analyses to aid in the validation of existing forecasts; and to support strategic initiatives and help review critical financial decisions. This includes monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics, trend analysis, and rate/volume analysis.
· Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet regulatory and reporting deadlines.
· Perform financial benchmarking, including executive reporting of key performance indicators.
· Assist Division Controller with month, quarter year-end close.
· Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet regulatory and reporting deadlines.
· Ensure timely consolidation and distribution of ACO HVAC monthly financial packages
· Implement and administers established accounting policies, procedures, and practices
· Apply Accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
· Prepare and enter journal entries necessary for month, quarter and year-end close
· Prepare and update monthly account reconciliations
· Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results
· Assure that accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the organization’s accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices, and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.
· Assist Division Controller in overseeing division CPA financial audit and corporate internal audit
· Ensure the integrity of financials; and maintain sound internal controls.
· Maintain integrity of accounting information and systems, in accordance with standards and rules under J-SOX, as well as other regulating bodies.
· Prepare various tax returns by required deadlines
· Execute special projects (operational and financial), including the recommendation and implementation of process improvements
· Interact with cross-functional managers and communicate corporate goals and objectives
· Establish and maintain close working relationships with major customers.
· Prepare and present, as needed, executive level presentations.
· Performs other job functions as assigned.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
· MBA or Master’s in Finance or Accounting preferred.
· 8 – 10 years experience analyzing financial statements and budgets.
· Excellent analytical and modeling skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Proficient in SAP.
· The ability to communicate effectively and influence at all organizational levels.
· Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping pace with changing customer demands.
