Position: Financial Analyst

 

This position is located in: Malvern, PA

 

Department: Controllers

 

Department Purpose: The Controllers Department is responsible for driving regional and corporate results through forecasting, financial analysis, value enhancement via cost benefit analysis and market recommendations, sales and claims support and education, timely and accurate reporting, and company asset safeguarding. 

 

Position Summary

The financial analyst position performs activities related to the development, maintenance and analysis of operational and statistical data used by management.  This position also participates in the formation of financial plans and forecasts and provides answers to questions about business data to both the Finance/Controller and external departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Regular and ad-hoc reporting of operational and statistical financial information

·         Analysis of operational and statistical data to identify emerging issues / trends / opportunities and assist management in developing action strategies

·         Consultation with internal organizational clients on financial results /  business issues to facilitate profitable growth

·         Communication with regional and home office stakeholders

·         1 - 2 years of relevant experience is preferred but not required.  Prior experience in the insurance industry or financial sector is a plus. 

Computer Proficiency: The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Excel including the use of macros and formula creation.  Experience using SAP, Business Objects, Hyperion, and Access databases is a plus.

 

 

Education: College Degree required.  Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, or Business majors preferred.  Minimum GPA of 3.5 for recent graduates is required.
