The Financial Analyst is responsible for the entry and management of all front store merchandising activities and analysis related to funding, as well as analytical support for all lines on the category profit and loss statement and other category related financial impacts. Duties include data entry, enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, and analytics including forecasting, variance reporting, and vendor analysis. This position will work with Category Managers to monitor sales, purchases, markdowns, funding and planning activities in order to analyze and make recommendations for improving profitability.

Job Description:

The Financial Analyst is Responsible for but not limited to:
• Work closely with Category Managers and Co-op to enter all funding activity associated with assigned categories, Category Managers, and vendors
• Develop and maintain supplier PL’s to set targets and track performance. Work with vendor partners to build supplier PL, and ensure agreements are executed, facilitate resolution with any variances and secure vendor signatures
• Develop weekly or monthly estimates around sales, margin and funding for assigned vendors and categories based on performance trends and strategies
• Support Category Managers in development of vendor funding budgets, and continually forecast results to ensure that overall financial goals will be met
• Support Category Managers with structured and ad hoc analysis
• Facilitate solutions for other miscellaneous finance related category questions from internal colleagues

Requirements:

Qualifications for the Financial Analyst Position:
• 1 to 2 years corporate retail experience
• Bachelor Degree in Finance or Business Administration
• Excellent technical skills: knowledge of spreadsheet and database software
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to interact inside and outside of the organization
• Ability to influence actions of suppliers and category managers
• Proven self-starter and team player
