Financial Analyst recruitment

Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) is responsible for the provision of products and services to nearly 3000 major corporate, institutional and government clients to optimise the client’s capital structure and related financial flows. This is achieved through the origination, structuring and execution of on and off balance sheet products that are enhanced through the efficient application of taxation, accounting, risk and capital management technologies. Institutional Banking Markets is the primary face to the market for all complex financing and advisory functions for the Bank’s corporate and major government clients.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform timely analysis of the financial viability of projects using either externally provided financial models or by writing the appropriate model.
- Prepare research to support and then to compile pitch presentations to support client and transaction origination activities.
- Provide model outputs to assist with the credit review process. Ensure results are accurate and appropriate for decision making purposes.
- To be completed to highest professional standard, combined with commercial pragmatism and solutions oriented mindset.
- Comply with Bank’s model policy and liaise in this respect with Sydney based Corporate Finance analyst team as required.
- Provide excellent client service through appropriate application of Bank’s service and sales principles.
- Deliver a high standard of written and oral communication and presentations adapted as appropriate for the target audience.
- Develop a strong internal and external network. Proactively anticipate the needs of all clients and stakeholders and develop effective working relationships with them. Demonstrate reliability and develop trust.
- Contribute to idea generation, knowledge capture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative, finance or business related discipline.
- Understanding of, and interest in, corporate finance
- Excellent PC literacy with advanced knowledge of Excel software, inclusive of advance cashflow, PL and balance sheet modelling and sound knowledge of MS Word and Powerpoint.
- Well developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and a ‘deadline driven’ mentality
- European language fluency; French, German or Spanish
- Minimum 2 years business experience
- Visa or residency to work permanently in the UK / EU.
Desirable
- Tax, accounting, actuarial, treasury or corporate advisory background
- Understanding and interest in the Infrastructure and Utilities Sector including transport, utilities and energy, public private partnerships, and other infrastructure assets
- Good knowledge of financial instruments, lending products and services.
