Business and Job Overview:
The Banking Segment is seeking a new Financial Analyst who will report to the VP Finance, Segment Banking CFO and will support and contribute to an increasing number of complex financial-based projects. The Financial Analyst will be part of the Segment Finance Support team, composed of 2 people, working across the Segment and its Business Units (global exposure).
This role is required to mine date from the different information systems used by the Banking Segment. Data mining, analysis, and presentation will be key daily deliverables.
Primary role is to support Segment CFO in developing financial reporting standards and ensuring:
• Provision of Management Information:
o Budget vs Forecast vs Actuals (Revenue, Headcount in Professional Services/PS )
o Data cut on products, regions, business units
o Identification of high risk items

• Improved accuracy in financial forecasts in Professional Services, Headcount, Collections

• Support in the production of Exec Team KPI data, not limited to:
o Revenue per billable head
o Mgmt / non-billable overhead
o PS Utilisation
o Margins on deals
o Expense per head

• Accuracy in reporting, attention to detail and reconciliation of numbers provided, well written summary reports in English

• Reviewed and improved process, methods, workflow and standards

• Reduction of costs:
o Understand cost drivers, especially around headcount
o Generate ideas to reduce costs
o Track and report expenses
o Develop policies to control costs and enhance compliance, on the longer term

• Provision of training and guidelines for new joiners in the different business lines

Additional Responsibilities may include - not limited to:
• Recommend strategic improvements (data collection, data consistency)
• Analysis and verification of maintenance forecasts may also be required on an ad-hoc basis
• Provide ad-hoc support to the management team as required

Position will require travel on a limited basis (average twice a year in London)
Information Systems at SunGard are Salesforce, Sun Accounts, Khalix and SAP.

Position Requirements:
The role requires previous experience in the following areas:
• Minimum of 3 years working in a similar Finance position in a matrix, multinational environment
• Financial / Accounting tools and techniques
• Extracting and interpreting complex data from a variety of sources in order to produce insightful and compelling outputs
• Ability to work within a global team with remote stakeholders

Essential Skills and Knowledge required:
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Expert User in Excel - Pivot, Macros, VBA nice to have
• Understanding of complex financial data, reports
• High level of autonomy and flexibility, managing several priorities at once
• Proactive and entrepreneurial
• Proven ability to work to strict deadlines
• Well-developed communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills at all levels

Graduation required: Accounting or Finance qualification (Chartered Accountant or local equivalent).
